Chefchaouen, the blue city
After a long day’s drive, we arrived in the beautiful small city of Chefchaouen. It is called the blue city for obvious reasons. Everything in this city is either steep up, or steep down. Our hotel was up maybe 25 stairs after an uphill climb from where our car could drive to. The Medina (market) is further uphill. Our restaurant was uphill, and then up three flights of stairs. The reward was this fantastic goat tagine.
There was a bit of singing and dancing in the Medina at night, which was packed at 10:00 at night. Sorry, no dance videos will load. The musicians/dancers were Berbers.
A few photos of the blue city.
On our way out of town today, we ran into movie camera crews. It seems like everywhere we go, Game of Thrones, Gladiator, and I can’t remember what else was filmed there. I don’t know what this was, except a faceoff with the movie crew coming our way to unload, and us stuck in a single lane town road.
Sorry, I can’t fix the justifying issues with this internet.
